Elstone is supposed to be heading off to become chief exec of rugby league's Super League, so that much is certainly true.

Well obviously.

 

Also, there is no incentive for Fat Sam to quit because it is almost certain that they would have had to include a similar severance clause in his contract, just to get him to take the job after initially not considering him for the role.

 

That's a lot of money to slap on the table.
