I think Jovanovic & Kiri always were going to join up with the squad. None of the English lads though. The squad was announced before Joe Cole signed so i don't know where it stands with him.

I don't see why cole can't be in the europa cup squad seeing as how he hardly played in the world cup anyway. Just have him on the bench. I'd also have jovanovic, agger and skrtel in the squad as well.

He's been training with the rest of the lads at Melwood so he's probably just being saved for the Europa League game as opposed to injured again.

What about Nemeth and el zhar, seems strange that their not with the squad when degan riera and insua are/were. Cant understand why they didn't travel with the rest of the squad, when Roy knew we would be short of players

Wasn't there something on here about Nemeth being pulled out of the training camp & his agent asked to look into a move or loan for him. Don't know what happened after that.

Given Ayala played so well in the last game and Hodgson has already said Soto will start (along with Jovanovic) - I'd like to see Kelly start at left back, as it is a position that is up for grabs and he has the potential to take that spot.

Yeah....that's why I'm not really looking forward to this one. If Spearing, Shelvey and Lucas are together in midfield though I'll be wanting to see them create things. Between them there's enough talent and skill to attack and do something, so I hope they go for it.
