What a fucking ace TV show that was. Saturday evenings, about 6pm, Matthew Kelly before we knew he fondled kids, stupid challenges, shit prizes, awesome theme tune, on before Blind Date and the generation game on the other side. Cuddly toy. Ace.

It wasn't as good as that one where they had a whole family doing a challenge and they let them all pick their own prizes beforehand. When they lost they'd bring out little Jimmy's Sega and mountain bike and say "This is what you would have won if you hadn't fucked up and remembered every obscure capital city".

How cruel was that? I can't remember the name of it. I think Cilla hosted it.

That was called Moment of Truth, and it was fucking ace. Basically a family member had one week to learn a really difficult challenge to win prizes for the whole family, and got one shot to pull it off. I read somewhere that Cilla had a hand in gettng the show pulled because she thought it cruel in this day and age when everyone has to win (GCSE style). When I lived in Germany though, they had the show over there and called it something like Die Stunde der Wahrheit. The krauts loved it and I think it's still on over there.
