Just treated myself to one of these...

And in unrelated drumming news, I've been reading Levon Helm's book, which is difficult to put down. In fact, I'm away to pick it back up now.

Very, very nice.

Is that a Chrome over Brass?

Chrome over steel. It's a Brooklyn 6.5 X 14".

Very affordable too as I'm just fannying about at the moment & didn't want to go over the score. I was going to try to get my old 70s Supraphonic back but it would've cost me double.

Nice purchase, the Brooklyn’s are great drums.

That’ll get close to the sound of the Supra. Enjoy!

Bought this stunning 1970’s ‘Gene Krupa Deluxe’ vintage Slingerland kit the other week, as a gigging kit for a pretty penny.

Sounds absolutely ace. Been after one of these for ages. The holy grail of Slingerlands, after Radio Kings, for me.

I’m like a pig in shit with this.

That is beautiful.

I love the sound of those old Slingerland bass drums, you can't go wrong.

It’s quality, the toms and the bass drum sound stunning.

Great kit. Not normally a fan of black kits but I’ll make an exception for this.

Joey Jordison dead at 46. Not really my cup of tea but you just listen to his drumming and go 'Fucking Hell'.

Great drummer and he grooved really well too. Had both angles covered for that band.

Sad loss, 46 is no age really.

Well worth a watch that, some Keith Moon in there for you as well.

The highlight for me was a home video of a wee girl getting a drum kit for her Christmas & just completely freaking out with joy. Reminded me of how I felt the first time I got to sit behind some drums.
