Yesterday - 5/10. 4 for the Fabs songs and an additional point for the charming Ms James

Death Wish (2018) - 6/10 Nice to see Bruce Willis in some old school gratuitous violence

Vivarium 4/10 - fuck knows what was going on but it was interesting for a bit

1917 - 10/10. Just stunning. Absolutely loved it. Should have won all the Oscars.

Just watched  No Country For Old Men, not seen it for a few years, just the last hour and they seemed to have cut some things out for some reason, the part where he commandeers someone's truck, I'm sure he blasts him with that weird piece of apparatus he's fond of, wonder why?

Under Fire - 8/10. Film about journalists in Nicaragua in 1979 during the last weeks of the rebellion. Pretty good. Mainly watched it for the photography aspect as Nolte’s performance as a conflict photographer is, by all accounts, pretty spot on. Gives you an appreciation for how skilled conflict photographers were back in the days of film and manual lenses only.

Little Italy. 5/10

Mrs wanted to watch a Rom Com as her choice last night. Nothing new, but had a few very funny moments. Emma Roberts with dark hair is hot as fuck.

The Farewell.

Chinese born, now living in America with her parents, twenty something, goes back to China to visit her dying Grandmother. Just a good film, simply put - funny, touching and a very easy movie to watch. If there's nowt else ta'do, whack this on. Though do warn your other half that they will have to 'read' as its one of them subtitley films. *Eww, she grimaces but ends up enjoying it*

7/10

Yesterday - Fantasy 'what if' after a global blackout erases the Beatles and their music from the world. Doesn't quite capture the concept well enough to execute it but it's frothy and fun for the most part, even if most versions of the songs are terrible. You also have to buy the main character not realising Lily James' character loves him and not noticing her - which is a stretch of credibility. 5.5 out of 10
