Real Sociedad wants Agger

He never bought players then shipped em off on loan :no

Think

Houllier always kept players no matter how shit they were thats why Rafa is so different to him, if you dont cut it your off look at Nunez and Josemi for instance.. you only have to look at the long list of wank players GH bought to realise that, I know we won the domestic treble under him but when he took over our team was looking very good and IMHO I think he took us backwards instead of forwards... he got rid of most of the young promising players and brought in shyte from the french league.

I don't want to go into the Houllier thing, I liked the guy and i thought he did a good job for us, finshing second with the highest points total since Dalglish, the trebble year, and some astute and quality signings in McCalister (who the fuck saw that coming!!!) Hyypia, Didi, Henchoz etc - he also blooded Gerrard when Highway and friends thought he wasn't ready for the prem.

His heart issues fucked him up a lot, he started to become paranoid (ask Bascombe!) and made some disastrous decisions, but his mindset probably stopped him admiting defeat when he should have sacrificed the shite he bought to save his own job, pride and paranoia probably stopped him, but who knows!

fair comment mate.... he went down big time in my estimation when he forced Fowler out the club, I read his autobiography the other week and the stuff Houllier and Thompson did to drive him out and the way they treated him was an absolute disgrace, im made up Rafa brought him back to the club to give him a second chance.

It certainly was. That is to say, it was if you take it at absolute face value and as gospel rather than it being an ever so slightly one sided take on events.

Well I would believe soemone who was at the club since he was a kid over Houllier any day, you only have to look at reaction when he rejoined to see how much this club means to him... theres no way he would have left unless forced out which he was, theres no doubt about that.

Fair points fella but in a match between who loves the club more, Phil Thompson and Fowler, there wouldn't be much in it!

I never read much into it, just assumed it was a clash of personalities, it happens at all clubs. Look how many quality players Fergusson has given their marching orders in his time?

We always knew he was forced out in the sense that the club sold him rather than him asking for a move. And I know how much he cares about the club, and I love him for it. but his book was self serving, even for an autobiography. Are you telling me he didn't make mistakes along the way? Even considering he's just an average lad from Toxteth?

yes I think he made mistakes, but his treatment as a player was shocking by those two... and even Owen recieved the same sort of treatment to a certain extent :no :no

anyway its all forgotten now, Robbies back thats all that matters... lets just hope he bangs them in next season.

I heard they had a who-loves-liverpool-more competition. The result of which was Fowler leaving the club and Phil Thompson with the average attendaces at Anfield, post war, tatooed on his penis.

Nah, Rick Parry and some of the Accadamy boys kidnapped Bill Kenwrights son in the Albert dock and took him to a secluded country road, Thompson and Fowler each had to take a turn at hitting him with a golf club, when challenged by Parry:

"Don't be a fukin pussy, do it!!!"

Fowler unfortunately shit out. Thompson, on the other hand set about the unfortunate blueshite with aplomb, he's been missing ever since....
