This reminds me of The Biscuit men:

"Oh!

Oh! Oh! Oh!

Unemployments rising In the chigley end of town,

And it's speading like pneumonia doesn't look like going down.

There's trouble at the fire station someone's had the sack,

And the lads are going to launch a scheme to get rid of Captain Flak.

Tell PC McGarry to get himself a mate,

And arm themselves with CS gas - they're going to be out late.

We've had cant conformism since 1966,

And now subversions in the air in the shape of flying bricks.

Chorus:

Someone get a message through to Captain Snort

That they better start assembling the boys from the fort.

And keep Mrs. Honeyman right out of sight,

'Cos there's gonna be riot down in Trumpton Tonight.

All this aristocracy has really got to stop'

We could overthrow the surgery and kidnap Dr Mopp.

The Chippy Minton Socialists could storm the market square,

And make plans to assasinate our aristocratic mayor!

Windy Millitant leads his Basque like corngrinders to war,

With windmill sails and bombs with nails they smash the town hall door.

But Snorty and the boys arrive with one big erstwhile crew,

Whereupon they bring about a military coup.

Chorus x 2"

One of my favourite tunes ever and all the more poignant as they were written in the middle of that satanic bitch Thatcher's reign of destruction.

I'm not on a wind-up; that link says £13.99 from £19.99. Honest.

  • 3 weeks later...

Can I ask what the difference between the silver and red dvd's are, as they both state they are "the road to istanbul".

Found an explaination of the silver one being "disk 1 - final, disk 2 - road to final" an the only description of the red one is that it involves the winning of the cup an the bus homecoming....it that the extra bit then?

Anyone know the answer to this little doozy before I buy the wrong one?

The red one is the season review, the silver one is just the final. if I were you i would buy both, just to make sure ;)

They released the red one first. I always get the season review just to have all the goals, always worth it. The silver one is essential though as it the greatest final ever.

Does anyone else think that they are both the shoddiest cheapest productions ever released? They are like the 1989 season review? Granada are awful!

Good match action though he heee!

I think you have a valid point. the "title" music is like the kind played on those really bad videos I used to have to watch during a science lesson in high school. shocking.
