We have an opportunity - post-Klopp - to bring in one of the best managers in the world.

Does this fella (whomever he may be) realise he is going to have to perform miracles on a shoestring budget?

That would seem to be the primary requirement.

Is there an example of one of the best managers in the world currently doing that?

Take the example of the fella I mentioned in the previous post.

I was hoping you were kidding. Not sure anyone would be on board with that, nor should they be. In fact there may not be a single person I can think of that more closely represents the antithesis of the club.

Kudos.

This is a nutshell is the problem with our fanbase. You reap what you sow.

Yea, that is a problem.

No, the problem with our fanbase is we're just like the mancs. We laugh at Ole because, objectively, we can see he's clearly out of his depth and had no qualifications to be hired in the first place, and then some of you are falling into exactly the same trap with Gerrard.

We'd be lucky to have Simeone. Simeone would keep us winning and competing against the oil clubs and United. But we're too good for Simeone, right? But Steven Gerrard having won one trophy in Scotland with zero competition is worthy of taking the job. Sure. Have at it.

I reckon he’s a good manager, and not a cunt. Brighton would’ve finished 5th last season based on expected points, with mostly championship level players.

Potter may be a good manager,I think he is at the moment but we need an elite manager. We are one of the best and most successful teams in the world and our expectations should match that.

Simeone is obviously one of the best managers in the world, and if you asked a thousand people who was a better manager between him and Gerrard, 998 would go for Simeone.

But he plays an absolutely dire style, and what makes you think he would want to come here anyway?

Seems a bit of a weird argument to be making.

I think the basic point is that we can do a lot better than Graham Potter.

Klopp got the time he needed to build a team in his image, at all 3 clubs he's managed.

Time he wouldn't have got at any of the mega rich clubs.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have been a success, just that he hasn't had the opportunity. And probably because he doesn't want it.

I keep hearing we are lucky to have him. But he's also lucky to have us. There aren't many clubs better suited to his style of leadership.
