England's top order apart from Cook and Root is brittle as fuck , the Windies had just been skittles out twice for next to nothing, throw in the fact Headingley always does a fair bit first day it just didn't make sense.

Oh and the weather forecast was always going to be favourable on the second and third days

19 wickets in a day they should have been put in, I said this yesterday. We were awful yesterday, arrogant at times too. Losing go these would be a joke. Stoneman was unlucky, Westley and Malan are not good enough. Bring back a few for Australia, I would sooner see Hales and the kid from Lancashire batting two and three, the lad from Lancs has no form but was good when he got his chance.

I think Ben Stokes is in the mix too, and obviously Joe Root has about 14 fifties on the bounce. They have 7 or 8 of a brilliant 11... it's just the few that they are missing.

I love the way Ali accumulates runs. He takes singles, turns 1's into 2's and always puts the bad ball away. Batting with him must be a joy.
