Because its only been out for a week, so i wasn't expecting blatant spoilers! its not The Empire Strikes back we're discussing here. Jesus, have a bit of a thought for people who haven't managed to get out to see it yet.

There is also the option of hiding spoilers on here. Wrap them in a NSFW bracket or something.

Rey sees dead people. Ren convinces the Galactic Police that he's a cripple and walks free and Finn realises he was wrong and it was Earth all along.

I'm not really bothered about all the criticism of it being a departure from what I expected or even the plot, I just thought it was a bad film in terms of the basics. Dialogue, 'humour', pointless scenes and characters.

And what did you give it out of ten?

The bit with Leia was fucking farcical. So, so bad.

I agree. It almost totally ruined an otherwise enjoyable film for me. I liked the comic tone but it’ll make the end of The Force Awakens a bit anticlimactic.

The casino scene was also really poor.

The best bit was the interaction between Ren & Rey and I thought the saga could have gone in a very different direction had they made different decisions.

7.5/10.

I've not read this thread for a week (thank fuck), went to see it tonight & enjoyed it, some good bits, some not so good bits but overall an enjoyable kids film. One minor quibble from me, too many women involved, I'm all for diversity but they're taking the piss a bit now, the Resistance would get their arses booted with all those birds kicking about in their army.

I'll watch it again with my Son when he's old enough.

Some people are claiming that bots have been created or users with several accounts are downrating the movie on rotten tomato, but rotten tomato has issued a statement today.

The authenticity of our critic and user scores is very important to Rotten Tomatoes and as a course of regular business, we have a team of security, network, social and database experts who closely monitor our platforms. They haven’t determined there to be any problems.

For Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we have seen an uptick in people posting written user reviews, as fans are very passionate about this movie and the franchise. The number of written reviews being posted by fans is comparable to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What was the milk bit about, Rey gave Luke a really funny look when he drank that milk?

Seemed completely bizarre to me that bit, was it just meant to be bizarre?

I think so, but is that not just like Bantha milk?

The tone of the film, by the way, was about as far from that established in the second half of TFA and Rogue 1 as possible.

At various points in TLJ I thought that half of the point of Rogue 1 was that heroes die to advance causes - but almost every punch in The Last Jedi was pulled.

Did you miss one of the major characters dying/sacrificing themselves at the end to advance the cause and respark the rebellion?

I thought that was pretty evident personally?

Yeah the whole thing about Kylo and Snoke is that we’re always told about how the dark side apprentices will kill their master eventually to gain control and become even more powerful. It’s been mentioned so many times now.

The only time we have seen that in film before TLJ is with Vader and the Emperor - although Vader only killed his master for the sole goal of saving Luke from being fried.

So although some people have been up in arms about the scene it actually stacks up as to how it’s always been told.

Would have been nice to have had a bit more Snoke and his backstory but Snoke is obviously not crucial to how the end of the trilogy turns out

That actually reads like a Donald Trump interview. Snoke wasn't just some random villain, he was the architect of everything that happened in the intervening years, from the rise of the first order to the turning of Ren, to make out he just dispensed with him to accelerate a plot point is lazy and a bit shit.

Nowt wrong with what happened, but I suspect not explaining his back story - nor why Ren was so dissatisfied with the current arrangement beyond the couple of bollockings he'd received - strikes me more as that they couldn't be arsed thinking of anything.
