Divock Origi

Is a lad who's scored less goals than Sterling this season (playing in France as a striker every week) the answer to our goalscoring problem?

We've already paid a lot of money for him considering he's scored less goals in his career than Balotelli scored for Milan last season.

So £17m for someone who can't score regularly in a shit French league.  The club just loves shooting itself in the foot.

At least when we paid a fortune for Cisse he'd scored a few goals over there.

A long time without a goal, Lille fans booing him - they're hardly desperate to keep him.

More lightening pace in the team cannot be a bad thing. If last season showed anything it's that if you can unsettle defences by coming at them from all angles, you'll get goals. Put it this way, if it's Origi or nothing, I want Origi.

Liverpool have denied reports that on-loan striker Divock Origi will be returning to Anfield in January.

It has been suggested that 19-year-old Origi will cut short his season-long loan at Lille and return to Liverpool, costing the club £4.7 million.

Reports in the French media said an agreement between the two clubs included a clause allowing Liverpool to take the Belgium striker back in January if they needed him.

With Daniel Sturridge still unavailable through injury and Mario Ballotelli struggling to make an impact, the return of Origi seemed a possibility for Brendan Rodgers' side.

Last month, the Liverpool manager denied reports surrounding the striker's early return, insisting Origi's season-long loan was a part of the deal struck in the summer to bring the Belgium striker to Merseyside.

But with Liverpool slipping to 11th in the Premier League, rumours have continued to grow around Origi’s future.

The club have since confirmed the 19-year-old will be staying at Lille until the end of the season.

Maybe him and the English league will be made for each other. He comes over and instantly adapts and starts muscling defenders and creating chances for himself and scoring goals and setting up goals for others. Then he gets player of the season and is worth 3x the price we pai for him at the end of the season

Good, I'm glad hes staying put,  Ridiculous to think this kid can be parachuted into the side and turn the season round . Much more likely he would get crushed under the weight of unreasonable expectations. We need a decent experienced striker and a keeper that isn't a hopeless spaz in January. Just get your fucking cheque book out Henry. You bought shite in the summer get over it

To be fair its been known he is a Liverpool player with a fair bit of hype around him, I reckon his selection there is more to do with twisting the knife. From what ive read about him he's played fairly well but they have heaped a lot of pressure on him and a lot of scrutiny.

I still think it was a ridiculous transfer though. Christ LFC are thick as fuck.

He probably mentally checked out around January to be fair. I remember him saying something like he was really excited to get here when there rumours we were trying to bring the deal forward.

Although I'm not sure that bodes well for him coming here.

As long as we have a Manager who knows how to use the players at his disposal he won't be any worse then the shit we have up front currently baring Sturridge.  If Rodgers is still here he may as well get used to the bench.
