Love it because it’s them but it’s basically Rock n roll train rehashed

Complaining about all AC/DC songs sound the same is like saying chicken tastes like everything - maybe so but it’s still darn satisfying.

Top 50 songs according to Metal Hammer.

No real surprises in the Top 10, although I firmly believe Let There Be Rock is not only their best song but the best song of all time.

Disappointed Ballbreaker didn’t make the list.

Yeah my list would be different too. Razors Edge would be much higher. 49th?!

Happy that I was able to see them with Bon on his last tour ( Liverpool Empire 1979)......Back In Black had its moments but they lost me after that, I wouldnt bother with them now given Malcolm has checked out ( Angus always said it was "his brothers band"). A great frontman for a band that knew how to push the buttons, they were great.

Blimey, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy and Queen all played the Empire in 1979. Unbelievable when you think about it now.

Brilliant in the River Plate stadium.

Yes, awesome DVD. Same tour & setlist that I saw at Wembley.

Can’t decide if I want to go to the inevitable tour night year. I obviously do but the gig at Wembley was genuinely one of the best days of my life - 4 of us got the train down (although 2 of them have since fallen off the face of the earth) & I was knackered from laughing by the time I’d gotten to London. I know you shouldn’t take the piss out the dead but it was the day Michael Jackson died & some of the comments were brutal.

It was >25d, sunny, spent all afternoon on Wembley Way with people dressed as Angus & a superb gig.

For some reason all my photos from the day are really hazy, which is perfect really, because that’s also my memories of the day!

I just can’t imagine a couple of 65 year olds, a bunch session musicians and the day out being as good as last time.

Black Ice tour wasn't it? Saw them in Birmingham on it. Unreal.

Yeah.

I’ve been back and reread the whole thread and this is only the 6th or 7th time I’ve commented the day of that gig was one of the best days of my life!

AC/DC are one of the least time consuming bands around as you don't even need to click the YouTube clip of their new song to know exactly what it sounds like. Genius.

Re-reading the thread, I get where your coming from pre & post Bon Scott.

The Johnson albums are nowhere near as consistent as the Scott albums & Scott is is definitely a better singer, but to write off everything under Johnson is wrong IMO - some of their very, very, very best songs came with Johnson,

Not hard as The Razors Edge is shit.

Well, one of their best ever songs in on it...

Definitely not one of their better albums but, like all their Johnson albums, there is a lot of filler but there is a handful of other good songs (along with Thunderstruck).

I was trying to put some context to it being a better album than Ballbreaker, Stiff Upper Lip, Black Ice & Rock or Bust.

Razors Edge has Thunderstruck, Are you ready & Money talks. Rest is piss poor, much like all the albums post Back in Black. Maybe Flick of the Switch stand the test of time but most albums that feature Brian have 2 or 3 good tracks some ok & some shite.
Still it's nice that AC/DC are still out there producing new music. I look forward to the album next week. A high point in has been incredibly shit & depressing year (#19 aside).

Yeah, I agree. I think Razors Edge is the best of a fairly average collection of Johnson albums (Back In Black obviously excluded).

In general, Power Up is more of the same. 3/4 songs you’d quite like to hear live, a few good albums tracks & a few duds. However, IMO, this has more good album tracks.

Realize, the opening track, is brilliant.

I'll get back to you next week!
I do think there is a cracking double album of Johnno lead songs but that's not a lot when you consider since BiB there's been 9 studio albums.
