Man of the match - Game 23 - West Ham United - Home - PL

He kept a clean sheet thus the only player on the pitch to make 100% of his target goal and achievement for the game

If you remember this diabolical Poll last season Pepe finished third when he was the only candidate for player of the season

Pepe is a legend and will always be in my top 3 if we keep a clean sheet

If he makes good saves to keep a clean sheet fair enough.

Catching the ball twice, punching it once and scratching his arse for the rest of the time definately doesn't make him the second best player on the pitch for us.

1 - Maxi - much more like the player I expected to see based on what I'd seen of him in international football. The greater movement and attacking intent of the team really helped him to flourish.

2 - Meireles - he was everywhere and always demanded the ball. His touch was impeccable EVERY time he had to control a high ball and he was always looking to drive forward.

3 - Johnson - defensive side of his game wasn't tested, but in the first half in particular he tore up West Ham's left side and it wasn't a surprise that he scored.

I think to a man they all played well, but you have to bear in mind they were given so much time and space and we never put under any pressure.

West Ham were fucking awful, especially first half, and the likes of Poulsen and Konchesky could hardly have asked for more accommodating opponents to give them an easy ride after all the flak they've had. We took our foot off the gas in the second half, even though we weren't exactly in top gear in the first either. West Ham approached us in exactly the opposite way to pretty much every other side we've faced this season, and you have to wonder just what Avram Grant is teaching them. He had a very good record at Chelsea, but his Portsmouth and West Ham record is monumentally dreadful. West Ham walked out a beaten side before kick-off.

Meireles

Maxi

Kuyt

How Kuyt gets votes for doing next to nothing except the penalty and one clearance near the end is beyond me.

No point crying like a woman when you haven't given your top 3.

You haven't been here long have you?

Cheap, SV. You said he had a great first half in the match thread.
