Best Back Up Striker

We need a decent back-up striker for when Nando strains himself again. We need someone who is quality, won't cost the earth and won't mind keeping the bench warm for extended periods (so huge ego's are out!). Who do you think Roy should get for the job? Any Suggestions?

Here's one to consider maybe.

Park Chu Young

And i quote..."New hope of korean soccer. he is a rising star who is most famous soccer player in korea. he has best agility in korean soccer history, and he gives fear to opposite team player. and he's doing weight training for increase muscle quantity. he is growing up and he is being wonderful player"

Missed a fair few chances in the world cup, I seem to recall.

If we’re going to keep Ryan Babel it needs to be him. If not sell him for the mooted 8/9 million odd and try and get someone better.

P'raps that Eto'o chap who seems to have been mentioned a lot.

True Park isn't the finished article yet but shows good promise. Agree with you on Babel. Would Eto'o';o'o be happy to play back up for Torres tho?

Miraslav Klose's contract with Bayern ends in 2012 so we could buy him out of it, maybe 15-18Mil to tempt him away?

Theres a €7.75m installed in the player’s contract and maybe if we placed a £16Mil bid it'd tempt him away...

£16 mil for a 32 year old who's just endured his worst season in club football, has lost his place in the side and who Bayern are actively looking to move on. Why? Because he scored a few nice goals at the World Cup?

Good player, could do a job, for £16 mil? Jesus Wept.

Klose was supposedly off to Bolton prior to the World Cup for around £3m. He's 32, had a terrible club season and has 12 months left on his contract. Yeah, £16m would be a great deal...

Saying that, if a reasonable deal can be negotiated for him i think he'd be a great addition to fill the veteran striker role at the club.

If you're looking at 4 strikers at a club then Ngog fills the 'rookie' striker role and Torres the leading striker, but I'd like to see someone in the Litmanen, Reidle, Fowler role. A regular partner is required for Torres too - not a midfileder thrust into the role.

Babel/Jovanavic may well be options but are unknown quantities at present in terms of playing up front.

Bayern Munich said Klose will be available without a fee.

Are you Rick Parry??

Bayern: he's free

RP: We'll pay 16 million and not a penny more
