Rafa cancels two meetings with Broughton

No, I don't think it is - I can't see anywhere in that where he has mentioned anything about missing meetings.

The reporter of that seems to be relying on the reader to fill in the gaps at the end of leading sentences.

" Asked if anyone in the senior management had, out of concern about the swirl of rumours linking Benitez to Juve, sat him down, urged him not to respond to any blandishments from Turin and instead stay put at Anfield, Benitez replied with a flat "no" and then hinted......"

HINTED????????

He could have chose not to answer the question as Tony Barrett said he did with other questions during that press confrence.

He could have said 'no but I am trying to talk to Martin Broughton but we have had to cancel two meetings because of other commitments'Yet he went on to say say.

"For one year I have been listening to stories about Martin O'Neill taking my job or [Jurgen] Klinsmann, [Frank] Rijkaard. [Jose] Mourinho, or Guus Hiddink or a lot of names – so I have to keep doing my job, focus on the next game."

Given that the club has now been put up for sale and hopefully will be in new hands before the start of next season, given that the Chairman, Mr Broughton will be conducting the negotiations with the new potential owners don't you think it prudent that Benitez would try to put the Teams requirements on the agenda?
No because all Broughton will be doing is brokering the sale of the club. The requirements of the team have nothing to do with him.

Is this not him having a go at the press?

Struggling to see anything wrong there.

Rafa Benitez will be speaking to newly-appointed temporary LFC Chairman Martin Broughton in due course (probably tomorrow) and from what is being said around the internet, his departure will be the main topic of discussion.

Rafa has specifically requested that Managing Director Christian Purslow not attend these meetings.

It has been suggested that Rafa will put forward his case, possibly claiming that terms and conditions of his contract have not been honoured (funding from the owners).

Broughton will be conducting an interview with the official site where the wording of Rafa's departure letter may be discussed.

What is known to us on this site is that specific requests have been made by LFC.TV for additional bandwidth to be provided for an event in due course.

More will obviously come out during the course of the week

Rafa to speak to Broughton tomorrow - most likely resign - Topic dedicated to Liverpool FC's South African fans

If the part in bold is true then I cant see how Rafa can possibly continue to work at the club. He's an employee of the club, nothing more. I find that a staggering request if true.

What harm can it do? It's not like Broughton is going to take Rafa's word on Purslow and not check back for the other side of the story. I suspect he's already had that anyway.

But if it's true then another "he goes or I go" scenario has developed because they obviously can't work together if Rafa doesn't even want him in the same room.

Is this really the original source? Can't see how the SA Reds have got this first.

Surely refusing to turn up to a meeting with you boss is a sackable offence!

I'm also sceptical of the source but, that's how I'm reading it. If the working relationship between the two is so bad then one of them will go and I don't think Rafa will win this time.

I'm not sure they'll be able to meet this week. There's a really important game with Hull coming up. It might have to wait until Juventus have fucked him off - sorry I meant, until he has some free time. Those Blackburn vs Bolton DVDs don't watch themselves you know. And there's a double episode of Murder She Wrote on tomorrow afternoon.
