How serious is that site? I mean Dossena has just been able to leave the country due to the weather, how can Rodrigues have entered the country, and passed his medical to complete the deal??

Come to think of it...with Aquilani and Degen passing medicals, it may indicate that we have scrapped medicals altogether.

So, you want me to do a full scouting report or something?

Not at all. The comparison with Reira is way off, in my opinion. That's all.

I also wouldn't akin Maxi to Luis Garcia... except that maybe Maxi would be willing to try an audacious lob like vs. Juve.

He's a much closer fit, though. He isn't exactly the same, but he's much nearer to Little Luis than he is to Reira.

I would say Maxi is more 'forthright' and liable to do something than Riera and Kuyt in the same position, subject to form and fitness of course. I think he can make more of an impact for us in an attacking sense.

I believe it will prove to be a good signing, he will certainly impose himself against some of shit defenders in our league in a way some of our players dont do enough

He's much more skilful, better passer, he's much more manoeuvrable due to his lower centre of gravity, he's faster than both, he's a bit more lightweight than either. He's a bit more like Luis Garcia, although not exactly, than he is Reira.

Can't believe I've gone straight to reds for that, on a side note does anyone know if that sites valid? The fat itallion isn't long gone, and that would be a fast medic..........aquilaini,degan etc.

Only Aquilani gets the "piano piano" approach.

Slow, technically gifted, has one hell of a shot... not afraid to shoot.

Riera but plays on the right.

Happy New Year Liverpool fans, here’s some good news for you; Rafa Benitez has signed long-term target Maxi Rodriguez from Atletico Madrid, according to Reds blog Well Red.

The Reds boss was linked with a swoop for the winger back in 2008 but has now secured a deal to bring him to Anfield on a short-term loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

The deal is perfect for cash-strapped Liverpool as Rodriguez, out of favour at Atletico, is out of contract in the summer and would not command a fee.

The 35-times capped midfielder, who has hit 30 goals in 107 appearances for Atletico, is desperate for first-team football to secure his place in Argentina’s World Cup squad.

Liverpool fans will remember Rodriguez scoring a well-crafted goal for Atletico in the group stages of the Champions League last season (picture above shows him celebrating) at Anfield in a game that ended 1-1.
