House hunt is over

We signed for our new house yesterday. After a short but intense spell of hunting we found an ace house in the perfect location and managed to get in and agree a price before it had even gone to market thanks to our ace estate agent. It is a semi, which was not really what we wanted but the rest ticks all the boxes, it has 5 bedrooms which will be handy for guests and the sproggs can now have their own rooms. Ace!

Congrats Jim. Is it similar to UK with the exchange etc taking place on the day you move?

Can you still be gazumped or is it signed, sealed and delivered?

It is signed for, but we are having it surveyed next friday and we can still pull out after that. If they pull out they would have to pay compensation. We pay them a 10% deposit about 5 days after the survey and if we pulled out after that we would have to pay compensation. So essentially it is done and dusted.

How much Jim?

What's the market like over there?

You can get a slate-grey 2-bedroom ex-council house in Castlefields in Runcorn these days for 80k, true story.

2.6 million which is about 220,000 quid. We live in between two cities though, so the prices are quite high by Swedish standards.
