Tell you what though, reading this thread makes you realise how truly few and far between decent films have been of late. Imagine if this was the 70s or 80s? Some of the films we'd be talking about?

Rocky, 7/10, some decent fight scenes but his bird is a skank.

Shame 7/10

Tit and Fanny fest about a sex addict,Michael Fassbender, shagging everything in sight while watching porn and wanking off at every opportunity, including the bogs in work and strolling round with his large dong hanging out.

Strange but compelling.

6/10 thought it was a bit shit when I was watching it. slow and no real story but I've thought about it a few times today so that's usually sign I liked it.

Carey Mulligan singing in extreme close up should have been a lot sexier than it actually was.

The girl with the dragon tattoo (fincher) 8/10

best film I've seen in ages

Battleship....everyone involved in making this should get bad aids.... 0/10

I suppose the Battleship plotline was foiled early doors by the fact nobody else except America has any battleships. They should have had a top secret Taliban battleship, maybe the Russians started building it during the 80s but the Taliban completed it using their magic powers, and it's bristling with high-tech weaponry such as underpants bombs and suicide cabin boys.

Shame

Ace. I really like this style. Slow, deliberate, just on the verge of overly long takes- feels almost documentary while also clearly the strong hand of the director. Sort of like Haenke. Authentic and compelling in equal measure. Especially that jogging shot, loved that.

Emotionally a strong story, dont understand those who complain that theres no plot. It presents a complex character and shows how he changes, hes got a pretty clear arc.

Excellent performance by the lead as well.

8/10

The Cabin in the Woods - 8.5 Popcorns out of 10.

Too crazy to explain what kind of film it is but was very enjoyable as the film went on despite wondering what the fuck was going on for the first 30 odd minutes. It was kind of Truman Show meets Evil Dead maybe with a few riffs of Friday 13th and Van Helsing thrown in. Brilliantly bizarre. I want some of what the directors of this film have had.

Hugo. I seriously struggle to think of a worse film I've seen in my life. Utter utter shit in every single aspect. A right pile of fucking dirge. The film has not one single redeeming feature whatsoever. It apparently won 5 Oscars and got rave reviews from some blert at the Daily Telegraph. I found the film akin to straying across a bag full of nothing, sucking the nothing out, and replacing it with small bits of frozen shit. It's like eating spunk biscuits in bed and then sleeping in the crumbs. I would give it minus pok out of plus poy, where pok and poy are numbers so vast that CERN think they might exist, but aren't sure.

I'd rather bite my own cock off than watch it again.

In fact I'm so fucking angry I was conned into paying £12.99 for it on DVD from Morrisons i'm going to write to Morrisons and to representatives of Martin Scorcese demanding a full refund and punitive damages to the quite reasonable tune of 1.3 million US dollars. It's the very least they can do, the lying cunts.

Haywire. Mandoza just about covers it, but I'd give it 2/10 for wasting a strong cast.

Haywire- dull, lifeless attempt at an action thriller from Steven Soderbergh, who clearly doesnt have a clue about the genre- 4/10.
