England's reputation doesn't help but England just haven't adjusted to the new rules as other teams have. It's virtually every game we get a player sent off. Farrell's long history of dangerous high tackles as an example are simply ridiculous at this point. Argentina looking weirdly more rattled than England do at the moment.

Feels like a reaction to the NFL head trauma legal issues. Just trying to stop any contact be it incidental/accidental

Thinking exactly the same, they're trying to define a rules structure that prevents concussion but end up inconsistently micro-managing games. Add to that they've now got a review of the on-field review.

Yeah reviewing on replay really doesn't help close calls. Always shown in slow motion and late hits, high etc all looks worse.

I'm sure in a few years you'll see teams have adapted. But much like VAR leaves to much to disgresion to refs. You wonder if a French/All Black get the same calls in big moments

Unfortunately that might end up looking pretty close to touch rugby or flag football in the US.

Very very good backs to the wall display aided by impeccable kicking from Ford. Crucially, England showed a lot of discipline. What the hell were Argentina up to though? They had an extra man for about 90% of the game, but they were riddled with mistakes all game and only started to make their extra man tell when England tired in the last 10 minutes. They also conceded a ton of penalties they way you'd expect from England.

I'm not sure protocols that punish an accidental collision that resulted in a head clash over a collision that was intentionally reckless but didn't result in a head clash are particularly beneficial for games as contests.

Thought the Argentine player was the one providing the forward movement ( accidentally ) as he fell sideways. Curry was barely moving forward as they collided. I understand that every effort should be made to avoid concussions, but the likes of this and the Steward red card against Ireland are ridiculous.

Hopefully it is sending off sufficient for Curry, and the Argentina player's cut isn't too bad.
