We’re missing a proper number 9. We had one in Origi who managed to win us a couple of points in the last couple of season in tight games like tonight. We didnt trouble the goalkeeper enough... Coutinho was too far away from goal. It was one of the worst games I’ve seen from Mane. Firmino and Salah were decent but they weren’t enough.

We miss Moreno bigtime.  No surprise how our form has dropped since he hasnt played.  His runs behind oppisiotn defenders create so much space for our otehr attackers.

 

Robertson is basically the Henderson of leftbacks.  

 

Robertson hasn't shit his pants at the back yet and has had very little game time this season.

He will never be as dangerous going forward . We knew that ,

Henderson, Can and Gini offer fuck all.

 

All too sloooooooooooooow on the ball, can never get the ball out of their feet quick enough to move the ball on and never offer a fast incisive pass forwards. Either sideways or backwards time and time again.

 

All are fucking useless against teams that just sit back as they offer fuck all.

 

Why not try Woodburn or Grujic? Start Chamberlain?

It was obvious from a long way out that we were going to struggle against a Pardew team yet again. Mane is stinking the place out and giving Coutinho the captains armband was a bit of a sick joke as he stunk too. Games like this still need a good old fashioned British number 9 who gives as good as he takes.

We tried that with Crouch and Carroll, and refs just dished out yellows to them. We can’t play the shite at their own game, it’s not a level playing field.

 

We need to dive more in these games. Sad but true. Barca are masters at it, go to ground as soon as the oppo get too close.
