No.

For the millionth time.  No.

If you want criticism of the Madrid government's violence in Catalonia you'll find it in the Catalonia thread. If you want criticism of stuff the EU is actually responsible for, you'll find it in this thread, but you choose to ignore it - hiding the fact that the racists and neoliberal extremists in the Tory Government have played you for a patsy by lying about other posters.

Nah no criticism of the EU involvement in Greece for starters. No criticism of the cheap labour (free movement my arse) scenario which saw people huddled on planes in a pandemic and no criticism of the eu after a report which stated the poorest suffer because of eu immigration policy and they are just a few of the top of my head. Any report mildly encouraging is swooned over (see above).

If you read this forum you wouldn't believe a large percentage of the electorate  voted to leave, and the fuckers had good reason

Oh yeah they did, they were all concerned about the EU's involvement in Greece. Everyone gave a fuck about that. 'Not in my name' they were chanting.

Well the downfall of the only socialist government in Europe barley created a ripple on these waters so the cynic suggests defense of the beloved eu comes first and foremost and discussion followed by critique is frowned upon.

The debate about free movement stalls every time I ask you how you propose to improve workers' rights by taking rights away from workers; that's usually the point at which you either change the subject or wander off.

And that "large percentage" who voted to leave was only slightly larger than the large percentage who voted to remain.

Fun fact, I've never been a huge fan of the EU. I've spoken about how many problems it has on here a number of times. I tell you what though, it does make me laugh that I've been called a right winger and a blind EU defender. Not wanting to commit economic seppeku is apparently the only relevant thing. Not being happy with Corbyn not winning elections because it means the right winger gets into power makes you a right winger. Not wanted to leave the EU now means you're an apologist for everything in the EU, even the stuff that is made up nonsense.

Yep, being in the EU has served us fucking dandy for all these years.

Lets say fuck you.

Let's take the gloves off and get real.

Did you see the Tories last night voting to put the NHS on the negotiating table and to cut Parliamentary scrutiny out of the loop?

This is it - this is what "take the gloves off and get real" means.

Is that it? Really? Is that the best you can do?

.

Maybe I should have phrased it "very little" criticism. Anyway the point still.stands and my point is correct.

Right wing/ left wing whatever is very hard to distinguish these days but I will say there are quite a few, yourself included who seem very ' Liz Kendall'

Actually, it's very easy to distinguish. You just need to know the definition of those terms and what defines a person as left or right wing. If you're right wing because you question Corbyn's leadership then I'm right wing. If you're left wing for holding left wing political views then I'm left wing.

But I dont so it is.

Well, those are words. They are English words. I don't think they're in the right order.

Well as I alluded to earlier to quote the late Eric Morecambe I think your political landscape is a not a king sized rizla paper away from Liz Kendall.

Correct. Although I note the defenders of neo con eu seem to want to pick and choose which topics they feel worthy of comment. Below are a few no no off the top of my head.

There are no defenders of neoliberal economics here.

The overthrow of the one socialist government in Europe warranted little comment. A cynic might link eu involvement in the greek government's demise as a reason.

There's a whole thread on it and extensive discussion on this thread.

The eu policy of free movement aiding an already virile slave trade is also  definite no no on this forum

All the evidence about modern slavery points to the opposite conclusion: giving people the right to work in a host country protects them from slavery.

On a similar subject criticism of poor Romanian workers being flown into Britain in the middle of a pandemic was met with general silence.

This was discussed at length.

The yellow vest movement in Paris against tax rises for the poor was also largely ignored.

The actions of the Paris government are not the responsibility of the EU.

A report stating eu immigration hurts the poorest in society was generally scorned upon.

No it doesn't.  Every few months you post it, we discuss it, I ask you how you propose to improve the pay and conditions of workers by removing their rights and then you go quiet.

The eu response to Spanish police beating old age pensioners voting in Catalonia also warranted little comment.  Hmmm.

There's a whole thread on the actions of the Madrid government.

The eu model involving expansion into the baltics is another topic pushed into the bottom of the filling cabinet. Cant understand why, with Hungary etc going so well.

EU expansion has been debated at length on here. The main problem isn't the expansion of the EU, but the eastward expansion of NATO (in contravention of assurances given to Russia).

The EU have censured the Hungarian government for their worsening human rights record; but, like you, the Hungarian government are opposed to the EU and to free movement, so they don't give a fuck.

The largely poor eu response to covid also received little comment and even less criticism.

You might actually have a point here - we've been too busy looking closer to home at the worst response by any government in Europe.  Part of the EU's "poor response" of course involved early action to buy enough ventilators, PPE, etc.  We certainly would have been better off - in terms of lives saved - if we'd worked with the EU.

Make of it what you will.

Here you go.  Off the top of my head, a rebuttal of every point you've tried to make.

Make of it what you will.

The last page of that Greece thread (page 29) shows that it was bumped a year ago for Gnasher's benefit, no doubt in response to a previous nonsensical claim by him.

That's just the kind of thing a neocon modern slaver like you would say.

Sorry what thread? The greek one? I'm not implying most on here were not overjoyed that the socialist party won in Greece. That was not the point I was trying to make. I was alluding to the suggestion that when things go a bit tits up and the eu has a thumb in the tits up pie things go a little more silent. Ie when I say the overthrow of Greece, the end of, the horrible outcome, the destroyed dreams. You can post the reaction to that on here on the back of a matchbox. That was the point I was making.

Your point about eu migration not effecting the poor is elusive and disingenuous. Although the effect is small it is very real and this is in my opinion where the general views expressed on this forum are wrong and at odds with the general public. . Its imo not the ignorance of the poor and working class that lost the eu vote but the middle class who ignored the predicament of those on the lower end of the british scale.

No but I did read your joke deriding people less fortunate than you though , you know the joke about poor people dying in a ditch holding blue passports.
