She deserve her own thread. I just read her wiki page and she seems to have been taking on a lot of good fights over the years. Kamala Harris Official portrait, 2021 49th Vice President of the United States Incumbent Assumed office January 20, 2021 President Joe Biden Preceded by …

All over Twitter... Chomsky’s weighed in too. We’ve recently had a right wing MP (Pauline Hanson) banned from appearing on the national tele for saying racist things. RLB got sacked for RTing an article containing a questionable sentence in the UK. How big a problem is this do you think?

I'm after some recommendations and thought I'd throw a few into the mix: "Altered Carbon" by Richard Morgan. I first read this in the summer and was blown away by it and am now on my second go. It's very gritty, noir-ish SF about this insanely hard bloke on the lam in a future where your consciousness can be stored, or transferred into new "sleeves" (bodies). Fucking ace. I've read a few of the "Eagle" novels by Simon Scarrow set in Britain during Caesar's day. They're nowt special, but are an entertaining diversion. "Wall & Piece" by Banksy was a Christmas book and it's absolutely addictive. Everyone who enters our bog seems to get lost for about hal…

Think we need out own dedicated thread for the president elect. I had a look and there doesn't seem to be a thread to bump about Joe like there was for Trump. Unsurprisingly there is one for his daughter Ashley dating back to 2009. Anyway, think this is going to be one of the most watched terms of office of any president. Not only is he going to be picking up the shitty baton of Covid, he's also going to have to deal with unifying the country and the aftershock of Trump. Added to that, time or age really isn't on his side for him to stand for a second term. So, I'll get the ball rolling with this. Deb Haaland: Historic Native American '…

Simple question. Personally I think he's been a disaster so far and I want shut now. I respect people who think he's doing a good job and realise he's hamstrung to a certain extent by a very hostile press and also his own MPs but I don't see him ever getting close to winning an election so he's got to go for me. He might have the backing and resonate with the Labour membership but I don't think that translates to Labor voters. Things are about to get a lot worse than they are now under that cunt Johnson and we desperately need someone to step up and take him on and I don't think Corbyn with McDonnell and Dianne fucking Abbot as his generals can do that. Cameron could…

Y'know, just fucking boss tunes, tunes that you instinctively turn up to 11. Just had my iPOD on shuffle walking down the shops, and I got that immersed in "Life on Mars" i walked right past the fucking shop, and only realised about 150 yards further down the road. Other tune that can do that to me, "There she goes" by The La's, can get totally lost in that. Anyone else get this, or am i just fucking weird

As Indian Red said we need a general cricket thread, and here it is. Cracking game going on in South Africa at the minute, it's only day 2 and were just heading into the final innings. Aus 1st innings 284 all out (75.0 overs) SA 1st innings 96 all out (24.3 overs) Aus 2nd innings 47 all out SA 236 needed to win.

Americans - Season 2 Epis 1+2 have been a but sloppy. I enjoyed season 1, but so far this is a 6.5/10. Hannibal - Season 2 I started off not loving the first season, but I went back to it and I was really glad I did. It finished off at around 7.5/10. Season 2 is better: it's worth a solid 8/10.

Just been for a mooch around the market and spotted some Return of the Jedi stuff, made me propper nostalgic, I'm gonna watch them all tonight now! One obscure scene from the films that always stands out for me is in The Empire Strikes Back, when the AT-ATs are advancing on the shield generator and the commander asks for 'maximum firepower', however. just before shooting the generator he shoots a rebel in the back who's in the process of running away. Every time i see it it has me in stitches, what an absolute cunt!

Elon Musk. Even his name gets on my tits. Was in with Trump early on and spouts constant pointless shit for publicity 'we should build a base on the moon says Musk'. Yeah great, 'I should be spuds deep in Kara Tointon says Section_31' His shite cars are always crashing and killing people. Plus, and most disturbingly, he didn't seem to exist until about four years ago - is he a time traveller? Dishonourable mention for Zuckerberg, Went to a low level Facebook event once and there was all these tech types from Dublin who all referred to him as 'Mark' as though they know him. They reckoned he only wore the same grey t shirts every day 'so it was one less …

Starts on Monday on Sky Atlantic, 2.00am initial showing and then the main showing at 9.00pm. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this? Are we ready to dive back in to more of George RR Martin’s world, or are people still too pissed off with that Game Of Thrones ending. Benioff and Weiss have been wisely kept well away from this by HBO following all the negativity around that final season of Game Of Thrones, they’ve turned to Ryan J Condel and Miguel Sapochnik who was responsible for directing some excellent Game Of Thrones episodes (from Wiki): In 2015, Sapochnik directed two episodes of Game of Thrones for the show's fifth season, "The Gift" …

I need a new watch as I've managed to fuck up my old one. I have a budget of up to around £300, and it needs to be the sort of watch I can leave on whilst swimming and arsing about with the kids. My old one was a G-Shock but I fancy a change. I'm looking at Citizen, but I'm open to ideas. I'm not interested in designer clothes types that put their names to watches so can rule out Hugo Boss watches and the like. Recommend a brother a timepiece mother-fuckers.

So, there's a new 4 episode documentary series on the four kings of boxing; Duran, Hagler, Hearns and Leonard. Not sure when it will be on British telly, but it's available in all the usual outside places. https://pw.unblockit.li/tv/1383875/watch-the-kings-season-1-episode-1 https://mixdrop.co/f/1vqxe04xcke60xm It's really good. One of the lines that made me chuckle was, also in the four kings book, from Bob Arum: ""Hagler, nobody wanted to fight him. I got two letters that came the same day. One was from Tip O'Neil(Speaker of the House of Representatives) and the other from Ted Kennedy(Senate Major…

As fine and thread-worthy an episode Trash of the Titans is, Lemon of Troy is the one above all others for me. Everything in it - every line and all the animation - is just perfect: from the wet cement, to Shelbyville Manhattan's attractive cousin, to Milhouse becoming invisible, to Rocky VII-Adrian's Revenge, to Bart using aerosols as jetpacks, to "Hark to the Tale of Nelson", to a nice refreshing glass of turnip juice. It's just perfect. Shitty YouTube has let me down, though: I could only find a few clips.
