listening to the football daily on 5 live and a city fan has phoned in and pat nevin is asking him why they boo the cl anthem etc. He says oh we dont agree with what the competition stands for and the standard of refereeing is dreadful. Nevin pointed out that the referee had an impeccable game tonight so then the fan admits that he doesbt think they can compete with barca etc so not point being in it.

Something very soulless about the modern incarnation of Manchester City. He's good but I'm not sure I'd want him, especially not for big money, if I'm being honest.  We already have a surplus of creative types in that position, I'm fine with Firmino/Coutinho/Markovic there.  I'd much rather we threw the money at a few other positions if we have it to spend.

 

But he is a good player, were it not for the other creative players we have I'd definitely agree with you.

 

Back on topic, that was a fun half of football to watch.  It seems like Chelsea's might be the top-four place we need to be targeting this season, which is not what you'd have guessed if you had been asked in the summer.  It will probably be down to us, Chelsea and Tottenham for that last spot.
