Big brave racist lionheart John Terry

If it's a racist comment, surely a monetary fine isn't enough. And if it's for making a joke or whatever, £45k is fucking ridiculous!

"In addition, the Commission found that the breach included a reference to ethnic origin, colour or race."

Surely that's the same as Suarez?

The FA's own guidelines call for a minimum of four match ban.

"Rule E3(2)

Rule E3(2) provides that in the event of any breach of Rule E3(1) including a reference to,

amongst other things, a person's ethnic origin, colour or race, a Commission shall consider

the imposition of an increased sanction. The wording of Rule E3(2) is clear. It is a question

of fact whether a breach of Rule E3(1) includes a reference to the protected characteristics.

Paragraph 8(d) of the FA Disciplinary Procedures provides for an automatic two-game

suspension where a player is sent off for insulting language. It provides as follows:

"A Player who is dismissed from the Field of Play for using offensive or insulting

or abusive language/gestures, whether he has previously been cautioned in the

match or not, will be suspended automatically from FTCM [First Team

Competitive Matches] commencing forthwith, and until such time as his Club's

First Team has completed its next two FTCM."

Obviously he wasn't sent off for this but they found it bad enough to charge him with - there should be no difference

Strangely enough these rules are contained in the ruling against Suarez where the rule was followed to the letter.

This is not a stitch up though - oh not, not in any way a stitch up.

Still winds me up like fuck to this day. How the club or Suarez lets this go is beyond belief. They should go to UEFA or the European Union and just bypass those idiots in the FA. disgrace.

" Written judgment in Ferdinand case also says he was FA's `poster boy' and `role model to other professional footballers in use of Twitter.'"

Poster boy for what exactly?

What ludicrous language to use in a written judgement!

As regards the punishment, didn't really expect much more tbh. It was twitter/disrepute/improper conduct charge and is pretty much what Babel got but with the racial aggravation on top.

Its cos Rio plays for them the same reason about Luis, its cos Evra plays for them

They do what they want and dont they just know it.

I stand by my comment if guthrie or some other bumnut had called another bum nut something the hoo-ha would of been dead and buried.

and just makes it an absolute joke that we didn't contest it further than we did

TBH, Rio's comments was off the field of play. If that happen to one of players (babel? twitter?) i would be liveried.

So out of Suarez,Terry and Turdinhand who do you think is the one going to be getting all the terrace abuse this season?

Terry will get his fair share but nothing to what Suarez will.

Think that's more down to the size of are club; plus the handshake fiasco

Could it be that the Ferdinand incident was away from the field of play ? I'm not sure what the FA's remit is when it comes to things said away from football.

That said, if Terry escapes with a fine, he would of been found guilty and the FA will have nowhere to hide, their hypocrisy would be there for all to see.

Racism is fine if you're black.

Apparently there is also a hierarchy of blackness that I don't understand, whereby Ferdinand is an alpha-male black man, but there are lesser black men referenced by the choc-ice tweet. It would seem that a black man with white values or behaviours is a sub-set of black people, a lesser species who should be scorned by twitter users, but only black twitter users.

Ferdinand obviously thinks that white people are below him, that's apparent, and the punishment for that is exactly £45,000.

There isn't a problem with racism in football, but there is a massive problem with fucking imbeciles who don't ever bother with a proper education and yet can communicate with billions of people in an instant, without running it by an adult first.

He'd have been chucked out of the Olympics for that tweet but, of course, English football is about as far removed from the principles of sporting excellence he fairness as its possible to get.

  • 3 weeks later...
Why has this cunt not been dealt with yet?

It's been over a month since he requested a personal hearing against his charge.

FA probably trying to get some "language sarcasm" experts in.

I was wondering what was going on myself.

Though Suarez had to wait a age to be called in then again for verdict.

Thing pissing me off is the fact noone is mentioning it,like everybody has forgotten about it.

More evidence why they should just scrap this posturing charade altogether.

Any positive/sporting reasons behind them in the first place has been hi-jacked by any player with a public grudge/feud against other players.

We all know what the "story" is going to be leading up to the match next week.
