Sir Trevor Brooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree that LFC have been criminally ignored when it comes to handing out the gongs (although GH got something for non-Brits for the Treble). However, sports honours are a relatively new thing in the numbers being thrown around now. In the days of Shanks, Paisley and Fagan no-one got them (unless they won the World Cup), and they don't tend to award them posthumously. As for Kenny, his achievements are too far in the past for him to get a Knighthood now. He does have an MBE though, doesn't he?

I do think Trevor Brooking deserves his. He's done a huge amount of work for grass roots level sport and has also been involved in loads of charitable stuff. He's an inoffensive grafter who has dedicated his life to raising the profile of sport at all levels. That deserves recognition in my book.

I take your point about the way football has changed in that its acceptable now and nots just this sport followed by thugs. I dont think time should be a factor in knighting Kenny though. Two members of The Shadows got MBEs in this round of awards and they've done fuck all for 20-30 years. Kenny has many unique achievements in football as a player and manager, as well as having always been a great ambassador and should be honoured in the proper manner.

You'll get no arguments about Kenny's suitability from me Steve. He's my hero and the best player I've ever seen. I just can't see him being knighted.

Maybe he should try licking Tony Blair's hoop during the next General Election campaign.

Oh I forget, Kenny's got too much class for that.
