Three United Fans Arrested For Spitting On The Hillsborough Memorial

The reason it never goes off at Anfield is the level of protection their fans are given. Kept behind for half an hour and then everyone gets allocated their own personal policeman to walk them back to their car hand-in-hand. They then get a kiss on the cheek and a wave as they drive off into the sunset.

When you go to OT they just let everyone out at the same time. I went in '07 after Istanbul and there were punches flying everywhere outside the ground and mounted police just looking the other way

Are you talking about the game when Ferdinand scored in the last minute, mate? I was there for that one and, yeah, they let us both out at the same time and it was absolute carnage. A real gauntlet to try and get back on the coach. I remember my mate took a bop on the nose right in front of a copper and he turned to him and asked if he was going to do anything about it and he turned to him and said: "just get back on the coach, you scouse cunt."

I've been there loads of times when we've been kept behind but I'd say that the policing for the Anfield games is far better than those at Old Trafford. A lot seems to depend on the mood of the bizzies for the latter.

I've had to knock the aways on the head this season and, to be honest, I'm quite relieved I won't be going to Old Trafford this season because I can see it going off big time if the police don't get a grip.

That's the one. I went with a few mates but was sat solo. Fucking scary getting back to the car haven't been back since. Haven't wanted to!

Is spitting on a memorial a crime?

Not condoning it of course, but can you be arrested for that?

All day long mate, section 5 public order...words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Innocent til proven guilty, or til three big wigs think you might have said it

Mancs have always complained about being picked off by gangs that have had a chance to mob up whilst they are kept behind at Anfield.

As a veteran of the hooligan era I say there is less trouble when everyone is released together .

I should probably book my coach to Old Trafford soon. Was thinking of getting the train but maybe it's not a good idea.

The train is the safest! Into Piccadilly, don't leave and get train direct to ground, outside the away end. Direct train back to Piccadily and then home. Police everywhere.
