Will all those Purslow worshippers now acknowledge that he fucked us up with the ridiculous contracts he offered?

Only a fucking moron would suggest that Purslow 'fucked us up'. He didn't help, but we were fucked well before he arrived.

His biggest 'help' was the big, ridiculous, contract to Joe Cole.

He's not the only player who got a a ridiculous contract that summer. We've got other players being paid far more than their relative worth, and are on much longer contracts than their quality and age warrant.

Many of the ridiculous contracts were offered before he arrived, but he played his part. If you want to look for the real villains, you could start in Texas and Montreal because they were the ones holding the purse strings. I'm far from being a Purslow worshipper though, so I'm probably the wrong person to reply.

We know Hicks and Gillett fucked the club, but it's the contracts handed out on Purslow's watch that are holding us back because we simply can't get rid of these players because of their wages.

He lost the plot with that Joe Cole vanity purchase with a contract far and above what anyone else would offer him. We've still got £15m we have to pay Joe Cole!

It wasn't just Purslow though. What about the £1M per game Degen? We have a history in recent years of signing players cheaply or on a free and giving them far too much money, then when they turn out shite we can't get rid of them because no-one can afford them. There's no single person to blame; you could include Parry, Benitez, Purslow and Hodgson to varying degrees. Only thing for certain is that it all happened whilst we were owned by Hicks and Gillett, who were paying for players on the never never and creaming off all the money the club was making to pay for their weetabix. Rightly or wrongly, that left their employees to be "creative" in the transfer market.

Terminate their contracts, it's the only way. Might work out cheaper for us in the long run too.

Cole, Jova, Degen, Poulsen, Konchesky (if he's still here) and Jones. Terminate them.

Pacheco, Kyriakos, Aurelio, and Ngog are on thin ice.

Aquaman, Maxi, and Ayala are probably going to get sold. Or rather, they SHOULD be sold.
