India could be a possibility. The weather will be intolerable, but to my recollection, no other club has made inroads into the Indian market as of yet. Blackburn might go there at some point due to their owners, but obviously they don't have the name we have. We could maybe do a link up with the Chennai Super Kings cricket team in a similar marketing deal to that we have with Lebron James. They are the best T20 club side in the world, and there are a lot of similarities between Chennai (formerly Madras) and the city of Liverpool. Just a germ of an idea for now.

Madras sucks. Bombay on the other hand is boss

I can't say as I've never been to India, but that may be true. It's not about going to the tourist traps though, it's about going to where the support is. We have a lot of fans in China, and probably a lot of them are near Guangzhou, hence why we're playing there. It just goes back to Ian Ayre's interview a couple of months back where he talked at length about making our overseas fans feel a part of the club. That's not to say I suggested Chennai with this in mind, because although we are popular in India too, I don't actually know where the hotbed of our support is over there.

Liverpool.no reporting that it was cancelled due to match fixing allegations in the K-League. Not sure what truth there is in it though:

Scandal in Korean football led to the cancellation

Liverpool should really have played against the Korean champions FC Seoul on July 19 as part of the Rode's preseason tour to Asia. Now it emerges that the match was canceled due to a scandal that has rocked the Korean K-League.

By Einar Kvande

The match against FC Seoul was to have ended Liverpool's Asia tour. Anfield club announced for a few days ago that they had to cancel the match because of "exceptional circumstances" . Many have believed that the reason was that the date of the match would create problems for FC Seoul, who has a league match two days earlier and a possible quarter-final in the K-League Cup on 20.juli.

A shop steward at FC Seoul have told The Korea Times that the discussions with Liverpool broke down as a result of match-fixing scandal that shook the K-League.
