Trophies no longer matter

I haven't really thought this through, so I'm sure there will be enough people telling me why it's a bad idea, but I'd like to see the league cup carry the additional prize of say 3 league points.

 

It is a bad idea, I think, but the fact that for us "big clubs" the only trophies that matter are the League and European Cup, something has to be done to make the others "worth" winning.

The FA Cup has held firm for a long time. But if you compare the interest for domestic cups in other big leagues, it's no shock that it eventually would turn out this way.

 

TV money are made in the top flight, the rest of the money are made in Europe.

I don't think it's "romantic" to want to win a trophy. It's all that matters really. Especially if you haven't won one for decades. Look at Pompey when Harry won the FA cup. What a day out. Shame about the aftermath, like.

I can understand it slightly when you are chasing the league and the CL, but for most clubs those are off the map, the only chance they have of getting anything is Carling, FA and Europa. I don't like it when we do it particularly, but for some reason it seems worse when shit clubs do it.
