I've just read your report on the Spurs match where you say with almost complete certainty that Xabi is leaving. But you didn't say why ...?????

 

I simply cannot believe that Rafa would let him go unless he was getting Iniesta or Xavi to replace him. he is our best passer, he makes our football flow so much better when he is on the pitch. He is simply too valuable to our club to be sold unless we have lined up someone better to replace him.

 

Why is he leaving? Surely not just so Rafa can get the necessary cash to buy Barry, Downing or any of the other sub-standard players whose names have been bandied about in the press as potential summer signings? This would be complete and utter rubbish!

 

Please say what you've heard regarding his exit from Anfield. And if anyone else knows anything, please chip in as well.

I'm deliberately not commenting.

 

I'd be on a hiding to nothing, as what people say in public and what is happening in private are often completely different. I could post what I've heard, and then Rafa or Xabi could make some statement that contradicts it (not because they're telling the truth, but because it's all part of the games that are being played).

 

Who are people going to believe? I'm not prepared to spend the whole summer in arguments on here and being ripped to shreds on other forums. I believe Xabi has played his last game for us, I'd dearly love to be proved wrong but we'll see.

Because Dave posted it in a blog he is giving what he believes his own opinion like all of us would.

 

From what some people have seen at the game Alonso looked he was leaving Anfield for the last time, body language about him.

 

We will wait and see but no point in jumping down Dave's throat in fairness. Everyone knows how the media can portray things.

I don't blame Dave, he'll just get people calling him all sorts on sites like RAWK or RAOTL.

 

But I do disagree with him over the Alonso wave to the Kop, I saw Mascherano do it for just as long. I think a lot of people might be in denial over the rumours, there were loads of Alonso chants after the game.
