Well it says in the post you pasted that contracts of any other length shall only be permitted if consistent with national laws...

 

All the articles at the time quoted 6 years and I bet if someone looks hard enough they'll be able to find direct quotes from Torres himself...why would they 'spin' the contract length if it was totally against the rules as you suggest? That would be fucking weird and it would also shoot the club in the foot for no reason...
