Premier League giants look to exploit FA Cup loophole | Premier League - Times Online

The Football Association faces a battle to preserve another of the FA Cup’s oldest traditions after the discovery of a little-known regulation that allows teams to agree to play for an extra half-hour to try to avoid a replay.

This little known rule exists which means games could have 30 mins extra time played without a replay. Apparently, the rule has always been in the FA Cup but hasnt been used for years.

The rule must be invoked by the clubs within 7 days of each round's draw being made.
