My Daughters birth.................I realise now that I didn't take full advantage of the gas and air and in fact its quite expected that you have the occasional blast, however I was far too scared because the nurse looked like Cathy Bates in Misery and I thought she would call the gas and air police !!

I once beat Hermes smug face with a Table tennis bat until it turned into marmalade following criminal offences in the field of punnery. Then I woke up and realised it was just a beautiful dream

I read that and realised you were talking about a dream.

A few possibilities spring to mind, some profound and some not: Zaire in 19-something or other to see Ali vs Foreman; 1966 to see the World Cup final; the garden of Gethsemane on the first Easter Sunday, just to see what was really going on; the moment man first discovered fire; the time when I was three and some lad pushed me off the slide in Victoria Park and I broke my leg - I'd just like to be able to blow him up to his mum for being a bully.

Must have been amazing after six years of war to finally feel safe again, I remember my nan saying the first time she saw liverpool lit up at night after six years she broke down crying tears of Joy. What a party VJ day must have been everywhere!

I'd go for a big historical event, one of the following:

Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address

D-Day

VE Day

Cuban Missile Crisis

JFK's assassination

Martin Luther King's 'I have a dream' speech

First moon landing

Fall of the Berlin Wall - remember it on TV but was just too young to appreciate what it really meant.

I'd also be tempted by Rome 77 though.
