Keith Moon once had 3 city blocks in downtown New York shut down so he could hurl televisions from the upper floors.

Or - at the height of the madness:

I once stayed at the Marriott hotel in Portsmouth with Oasis. The pool was next to the bar, so Liam threw all the plastic furniture into the water. Noel said: “You fucking dick, where are we going to sit now?” He made him get it all out.

Well done mate.

They were of their time and very synonymous with it. Two very good albums, nothing else of real note. Word Gets Around, Everything Must Go and Different Class all said more about working class life in Britain than Noel Gallagher ever managed in that period. It was never "doing the white line" it was about enduring shit relationships, getting by the best you could, beating the struggle in broken communities. Yet Oasis are still the cultural touchstone for that mid-late 90s era in the tory death spiral.

The way the country (and guitar music within it) hasn't moved on from them is ridiculous. I fucking LOVED them as a teenager, but the music (which is pretty much all written in the same scale) hasn't aged well at all.

Sooner they're consigned to that fucking champagne supernova in the sky the better.

Opinions mate. The 3 albums you mentioned are also superb albums and some of my favourites.

Going Nowhere, maybe and at a push Talk Tonight, but I dont think the others are particularly "angsty".

They aren't a band i would throw that label at at all.

Didn't noel say once they were a reaction against that whole angsty nirvana type attitude?

I have to say this is actually a pretty fucking good tune.

Liam Gallagher - Everything's Electric

Went down a storm that at Knebworth.

His solo stuff has been really fucking good. Hasn't disappeared up his arse like Noel.

Been listening to it the last few days. Some really decent tunes have to say. Looks like he has a decent team behind him.

Off to see him in Dublin next weekend with The Charlatans supporting so it should be a blast.
