What's a Bung in football anyway? It's hardly cash for questions in parliament.

Why don't the telegraph look into Mark Halseys claims about referees? That's gone away now...

and of course there is no link to the inconsistent referees and sendings-offs game to game through fad yearly F.A. rules 'initiatives' left, right and centre. so that all the tonnes of betting companies now involved in football, sponsoring nearly every fucking team, further propping up the greed in the game which is essential to it's bloodflow, have more of an opportunity of making money off punters through the increased chance of randomising results.

also means there is more potential to gerrymander stories and narratives for the benefit of Sky etc.

it all reeks of shite from top to bottom.

Nope, still don't get it today.

If the FA want to pretend that third party ownership is no longer happening, then that's their fucking problem.

Agents negotiate a % of player salary and player sell-on fees. Someone explain to me how this scenario is not 3rd party ownership.

I'm with Rodgers on this, it's fucking embarrassing 'journalism', and the Telegraph Sports section are now fucked.

What don't you get? Why he was sacked? Or what Sam did wrong?

Well, he did a myriad of things wrong, so I can see how he got sacked. I just don't see why the most attention is on him giving advice (and it wasn't even really advice, it seemed a like a general chat on different subjects) around third party ownership.

I've heard nothing about why the sting took place, and who orchestrated it, and yet we're all supposed to be delighted it's happened and now there's a big rainbow over football apparently. Nothing's changed, the backhanders and the 'bungs' and the betting is still going to take place, they'll just be very careful about unknown parties taking an interest in it.

There's a World Cup happening in Russia in two years, a country with horrifying levels of racism and fascism, and ogliarchs owning cities. And there's a World Cup in Qatar 4 years later. How do I balance these facts against my better judgement of knowing that everything and everyone is for sale in football?

Forget the PL, forget the CL, even the Championship is awash with money, it's raking in more in revenue than the premier divisions in Japan, Turkey, Netherlands, Argentina, China, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland. Even League 1 revenue per club is higher than that received in the premier divisions in Chile and Poland.

I'm not in any way upset that Allardyce is getting hammered, I'm just embarrassed to see the bunting go up like some great moral victory for the sport has occurred. It hasn't. Some fat meat-headed goon got over-confident and forgot it was illegal.

That's basically what happened, it's so commonplace to make these dodgy deals and throw money around, over the course of about four or five decades that sometime they must just completely forget that it's not considered appropriate! I wonder how many other agents were in Wings restaurant that day with their clients, or business partners, discussing how to extract a few million out of the endlessly overflowing cashpot that is English football?

One person is being cruelly overlooked to replace Allardyce......

Garth Crooks.

Given some of the batshit crazy line ups he does in his team of the week thing on the Beeb website, at least it'd be a lively watch with him at the helm.

Garth Crooks has continued to baffle football fans and infuriate Liverpool supporters by claiming the Reds are in danger of getting into a relegation fight this season.

Fat Sam has the last laugh.....

Allardyce to receive £1m payoff

Sam Allardyce is expected to receive a payoff of about £1 million after serving only 67 days as England manager before leaving the role yesterday.

The FA said Allardyce’s position had became untenable as soon as the details of his remarks to undercover reporters from The Telegraph, posing as Far East businessmen wanting to set up a football agency, became known on Monday evening.

Sums the FA up perfectly that does... An employee is sacked for gross misconduct but he still gets a £1m pay off.

They should have gone down the legal route and seen whether Fat Sam had the balls for a fight. 100% he would not have got involved in a legal wrangle knowing he's a dodgy cunt.

Klinsmann or Bielsa should have had it before so one of them should have it now. I think they're waiting for Wenger end of the season, it's a perfect semi retirement for him after Arsenal.

Its not, Wenger won't want all the grief and nonsense that surrounds the job. Nearly 70 , probably caked and not even English : why on earth would he give a shit about the national team,

Didn't Jaizinho say that Bielsa set the blueprint for Chile's success or something? I'm only familiar with his Bilbao side and they were very very good.
