It would only be of real concern if he was trying to play simple and giving it away, but he's not.

Against Newcastle I distinctly remember him winning the ball back twice, felt like it took Fabinho until Christmas to rack up those kind of numbers last season.

We need him to be able to play it to those 2 though, every pass seemed to be to the full backs or centre backs.

Someone on the match thread pointed out Endo's role in ensuring that we barely noticed Isak either.  A good DM's positioning, cutting off passing options for the opposition forwards, is rarely visible on telly, where cameras are following the ball.

Thought he was fine. Got caught upfield once but we had sufficient cover. Otherwise just recyled the ball to Mac and Slobbo.

It took Fab 6 months to get up to speed playing as the 6 in a Klopp system, it could easily take Endo just as long. 
 

It’s daft to judge him after two very difficult games. 
 

It’s even more fucking stupid going into the season with him as the only senior DM.

I definitely saw him manage a spot of running on Sunday so that can't be right.

I'm not expecting world class by any stretch, given that I've ever even seen him on a Panini sticker, but I reckon he'll be handy enough.

 

Certainly can't be any worse than some of the shite we shipped out like Keita and Ox, or Milner, who is so old that of he was a Nigerian playing for Everton he'd be 26.

 

Or Thiago, who everyone fucking loves but is getting to the stage where he may as well be put down.
