Delighted with the result, three vital points.

 

Performance was quite poor. We were good in attack for about half an hour, and that was enough to win it.

 

Defensively we were poor the entire match, extremely poor at times in the second half. Even when we defended deep the cut through us with ease. Without what is possibly the best keeper I’m the world, we could easily have lost this match. No intensity or pressing in midfield, hardly a loose ball won over 90 minutes. 
 

Three points won, now use the new preseason well, and get two new midfielders in during the January window. If we dont, no way we’ll get top four.

 

Nunez absolutely excellent, but still Alisson was man of the match. Also good performances from Thiago, Bobby and Milner. Trent, Fabinho, Gomez and Salah were all pretty poor I thought. Elliott good in attack, but is a major part of the reason we can’t defend our right hand side.

It was a win. A messy win but it keeps us ticking over. Lacked energy in the second half and Ali bailed us out with 3 huge saves.  Need reinforcements in Jan and players back. We'll take it

It will be a strange season because of the World Cup, but it’ll still be fine margins and I think the losses to Forest and Leeds will ultimately prove costly. We had a great opportunity after beating Man City.
