Gomez has to play IMO

 

Don't want to risk VVD or Konate, Matip is not fit....So it is Gomez and Phillips for me.

 

Gomez does not start for us at centre half when everyone is fit so league cup at centre half is exactly the sort of game for him.

I want to see what all the fuss is about with this Doak kid. I don’t even know how to pronounce his name. Hopefully it’s not just the last five mins off the bench. 
 

Ramsey should definitely start. There’s no point playing Trent in midfield because we’ll learn nothing while he’s surrounded by fringe players and kids.

Kelleher instead of Alisson as per last season's agreement. Ramsey instead of TAA, to test his potential alongside first team players. Other than that, all of the above, especially Hendo. Fuck worrying about injuring England players before the World Cup.

How does the world cup affect our team selection either way - players going or not...? I have seen it said a few times on here and elsewhere and i can't get head round it.

 

Take Gomez for example - he is likely going (hopefully not like but...) and he is surely a nailed on cert for us to start tonight.

 

I'm not having a pop at you - i just find this idea that it should have any bearing on our team selection for this mad!

We have a big game saturday and only the 3 fit senior forwards - do we risk them tonight ahead of that and on back of heavy schedule of late?

I know what you mean!

 

It's more that in a normal season it would be stupid to risk somebody like Salah tonight, but as he has got a long break coming up there's less of a need to rest him completely.
