Is this a deliberate attempt to wind Stig up?

I'm not with you? I wonder what Lennon would be like now and what he'd be playing at the age of 80, if he could, as plenty of musicians seem to go back to a sort of Country style as they age, Costello and Plant for instance, I don't think he'd be like that but I reckon he would be saying how he was influenced by Berry, Holly and Little Richard etc, sadly we'll never know.

He's somewhat prickly about people who vote for solo artists on the strength of their bands and vice versa.

No, people should just vote for someone based on their preference of the artists solo stuff.

Oh right, I can see what he means I suppose, perhaps I should of gone for Chuck Berry then, as I'd rather listen to him as opposed to Lennon and his solo career, just a matter of taste.

Keith Richards himself reckons it was Berry's keyboardist, Johnny Johnson who wrote most of his music. His example was Johnny B Goode; much easier to play on the piano than the guitar and it's all rooted around the middle C key.

Make of that, what you will.

Reckon he was on drugs when he came up with that.
