January Transfer Window 2016

Isn't it Michael Edwards who's been mentioned as being a little bit of a Machiavellian schemer behind the scenes. I'm nearly sure I read a big write up about him one evening when I was pissed drunk.

I cant be arsed to try and find it but I think the general jist was hes not as good at his job as FSG think.

I'm not sure Klopp's especially impressed with the transfer committee at Liverpool. #lfc (Rory Smith - Times)

I have a strong suspicion #LFC's transfer committee is about to come under scrutiny again because of its composition. (Rory Smith - Times)

I wonder if all those who have been saying "klopp's a smart guy, he wouldn't put up with being had off by ayre" think when they see stuff like this. Probably dismiss it as not real.

Klopp, Barry Hunter (head scout), Michael Edwards (head of statistical analysis), Ian Ayre, Dave Fallows (head of recruitment)

Don't forget flash Gordon, fsg's superbrain of soccer.

This could be a pivotal transfer window. We've tried signing players but it hasn't worked, so let's try signing none. A subtle tactical shift.

Is that a change? Seems exactly the same as January 2015 and January 2014. After signing suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge in the January 2012 & 13 windows, why would they want to try and repeat that type of success? Much better to keep our powder dry till the summer when we can smash millions on shite scouted off spreadsheets.

I guess it's a change when there's a new manager?  Unusual for him to get no new signings during his first window.  But yeah I see what you mean.

I want us to just pay the money. I don't give a hoot about overpaying or any of that. Just pay it, get him over here and if he's shit, then I'll worry about it. Actually £38 million isn't that much in today's market - Sterling, Be Bruyne, Martial fees in the summer, for example.

Saying "£38m isn't even enough in today's market and I just wish we'd pay whatever" is what leads to the club putting ticket prices up yet again, despite the obscene amounts of money in the game.
