New York. What to do there?

I've got to agree with you there, Brownie. I absolutely loved Philly.

I've got to be honest, I've always found New York a little over rated. I'm not saying I think it's shite, far from it. I would never dissuade anyone from going there, but it's just never floated my boat the way some American cities I've been to have.

I personally rate Chicago over NYC. One of my favourite cities on the planet.

Just to echo what Faustus said, New York is really good, i'm not suggesting to swerve it at all. I'd definitely go back to visit but I just preferred Phily because it felt less commercialised and had more 'soul' if that even makes sense.

One great thing about NYC for my particular visit is the fact that it was during the World Cup so I got to see a US game there and it really was a great experience.

I was absolutely gutted leaving Phily though, i'd had a great summers day there, it was a Saturday and it just felt like a proper party town but I had to leave.

I've gotta have a Saturday night in Phily at some point, it's on the list.

I'd love to hire a car or a big bike and do a tour of cities in the states. mean places like Detroit and Oakland. Properly take it all in like but i'd never do it with my missus. Either on my own or with a mate but lets face it, having just bought a house i'm hardly gonna get a 6 week pass to fuck off to the states on tour am I. So.... if I do decide to do it i'll have to kill her and go on the run over there. I'm undecided.

Oh aye, it's defo a party town, Brownie. Me and my mate went travelling around the north east of the States about five years ago and we had a hell of a drunken weekend there after getting in with a sound group of yanks that we're still in touch with to this day.

In fact, my mate ended up getting with one of them and married her in a boss wedding in Rhode Island last year!

It sounds daft as a recommendation in a NYC thread, but if anyone was there for a significant amount of time like a fortnight or whatever, they could do a lot worse than do a day trip or a weekend in Philly. Cheap as anything by bus and only around two/ two and half hours away.

Flying out on Sunday for four days of work. I will have some meetings and presentations at 30 Rock where I can stand up and pause for dramatic effect whilst staring out over the vista of Manhattan. How cool is that?

If you get the chance go to the top. The views over Central Park are stunning

Bjornebye, try Jekyll & Hyde's restaurant in Greenwich Village. It's like a haunted house with weird dummies coming to life and Frankenstein singing.

Haha just told her to look it up on google and she told me to tell you to fuck off! She hates scary stuff (even though im sure its about as scary as flubber)

Just tell her she's a massive wimp, it's a good laugh in there. There's a bar in the same street that had a few live bands on if I remember. Mind you, the last time I went I went to the top of the World Trade Centre.

Oh some sort of drama is bound to happen. It always does. Normally starts when me and her have been (and this goes for my last 3 girlfriends, who are all in their own endearing way, fucking headtheballs) drinking all day and are out in the night. I will cough at the wrong moment or something and she will strop and decide to sulk, then walk off on her own. It won't happen somewhere nice but no doubt in the middle of Brooklyn, or the Bronx, or a night-time chase through central park. She will safely get back to the hotel and I will have to negotiate New York like fucking Swan but on my own. Will she want to hear about how I escaped death, crack junkies, the NYPD and the jaws of infinity the next day? will she fuck.

Last time I was there I got shouted at by a chinese lady who ran a laundry  because the previous night I'd thrown up on my clothes in a taxi and taken them off in her shop and walked back to the hotel in my boxers. Got up around 3/4pm and couldn't find my stuff, I eventually ventured outside walked down a couple of streets until she started huranging me. She was irrate because I hadn't paid her, but at least I got my clothes back.

Enjoy the meat packing distirct man it's great.

Meat packing district looks the place to be for a decent night out. Been scouting other places for the fight as that Jimmy's is tiny and with all the will in the world, she ain't gonna put up with that place especially when this fight is happening. Most places it looks like they are charging an entrance fee, some up to $100 a head ! Just gonna have to bite the bullet and pay it I reckon.

Anyway, got to be up at 5 in the morning, at her maa's in bromley now, already half cut. Fucking holiday mode innit and I don't have to drive the airport.

Anyone flown with united airlines? Cunts not giving free beeves on the flight. Long haul should all be free they normally are!
