And now 2 "survival specialists" are up shit creek; one can't make a fire and the other nearly cut her thumb off when chopping a stick.

I'd hole up with a 6 pack and a family sized pack of Monster Munch and fancy my chances of winning this.

Pickled onion?

Alone s02e01

Day 1 and ex-USMC Desmond: "When I was in Iraq and Afghanistan, we were the best if the best. Gotta go big or go home. My family are looking up to me, I'm gonna take that $500000 home"

Day 1 2pm and ex-USMC Desmond: "This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do man, there are sounds coming from the woods and it hasn't stopped raining. I miss my babies"

Day 1 2:30pm and ex-USMC Desmond still hasn't moved from the landing beach (!)

Day 1 3:00pm and ex-USMC Desmond: "I've decided I've given it my best shot but it's time for me to go"

Alone s02e01 7/10

ex-USMC Desmond the pussy 0/10

Yeah he's an absolute weapon him. Made himself look like a right tit.

Finished Ozark last night and I'm glad it has finished. Overall the series is a solid 8/10 but I felt it was almost turning into a violent soap opera at the end. Once again trying to make the cast largely female was,I felt,a bit detrimental overall. Good idea and well acted but I hope it is the last series.

Alone s02e07

Lots of cheese is slipping off a lot of sandwiches, lots of these weird fuckers trying to rationalise their depression and hardship by chanting and praying, blaming God because they're too mentally weak to cut the mustard.

Americans man, sheesh, they're a different fucking breed alright. Nutters.

Edit: 2 more loons bite the dust.

This is Netflix you're talking about. If ever a company knows about flogging a dead horse. See you after season 9

8/10 for me as well, though haven't finished the last episodes

Overall Ozark was a very good show but fizzled out towards the end and the finale was very disappointing.

I said much the same, that's not to say the end is terrible, like how Dexter ended for example, it just felt like they could have done so much better with what they had, don't get me wrong I wasn't looking for or expecting a happy ever after ending where the blue filter lifts, the sunshine comes out and they all smile off into the distance, just something a little more memorable that sits with you for a bit.

I think the problem Is that they decided to expand the scope of that Wendy and Marty we’re trying to achieve and it became rushed. They also didn’t know how to tie up some of the stories so they just petered out.

The Silent Sea

Korean sci-fi mystery about a mission to the moon to retrieve a top secret sample of something all top and secrety.

One of those strangely bingeable shows that looks quite good, isn't so bad that you switch off, but ultimately disappoints. Very much in the mould of Squid Game in that regard.

First 2 episodes of Barry season 3 are excellent. Such an underrated show NoHo Hank is excellent as is Henry winkler

Agreed on both counts

Winkler is just ace full stop, in the same way Danny DeVito is.

NoHo Hank is a really fresh character, Eastern European Gangster, that's very polite and a bit camp. It just works very well, which is credit to the actor.

Fair summary.

New documentary on Netflix called Knuckle. I say new, it was made in 2011. It’s just made by some fella that followed a family of travellers (can’t say gypo or pikey anymore) to loads of their fights over a few years.

Before they started calling each other out on YouTube, they used to send each other VHS tapes offering the straighteners. Amazing. They bet shitloads of cash on their own fights too.

Seen that years ago. Nutters they are.

The Offer....a limited series about the making of the Godfather. So far I have watched the first 5 episodes. It stretches things out a bit too far but so do most programmes now. Also a bit too reverential about the movie itself.

On the whole good fun 7/10
