He's 29. Benzema just laid waste to PSG in the Champions League, and he's 34. Lewandowski is 33 and is averaging more than a goal a game. He's the most professional player we've ever had at the club. He's never injured. He comes back after playing an insane schedule in the AFCON, and gets declared to play. The man is a machine and only getting better.

He doesn't smoke, drink, take drugs and whenever he takes his top off, it looks like he's been putting in the work in the gymnasium and fancies the job.

He isn't replaceable, at least not directly. It would likely need a change of system as the chances of finding a Left sided forward who can score like he does isn't very likely.

A lot of people said that about Coutinho because so much of our play went through him, but we shrugged it off and won the Champions League.

If he goes, another hero will emerge.  Nature doesn't allow a vacuum, and LFC is a force of nature (okay, that sounded better in my head).

He's good but misses a shit load of clear cut chances and shoots on sight/doesn't pass to team mates when he should. Trust Klopp to find a replacement. I dont trust FSG to provide the funds to Klopp or Klopp replacement though.

Well said.  By the way, this is your theme tune.

Our attack is built on attackers that can create their own chances, but the tradeoff is they aren't the most clinical. If we replace Salah with one single attacker that is of that similar type, it won't go well, because we won't find someone better than Salah.

We'll need to buy mulitple players, or look at a different profile of player. We could also change the shape. If he goes, I'm not sure we should carry on with the formation we've been using.

With Carvalho expected I do wonder if a switch to a 4231 might happen. Klopp played it at Dortmund before. Though trying to find the correct number 9 wouldn't be easy

Really?!  Trent Alexander-Arnold called and requests clarity on this.

Trent creates chances for them as well, but the point of having attackers like Mane, Salah, Jota and Diaz is that they can create more chances by themselves than your usual Centre forward that relies on service.

Yeah, I thought of that. Could get Carvalho and Firmino for the 10, more of a winger replacement for Salah and then a #9. Jota could also play up top as well, and you'd have Diaz and Mane on the left who have winger profiles.

I would trust Klopp and his team to just find the next Salah.  They've been excellent in the market.

I've made my peace with Salah leaving, it looks inevitable.

I absolutely trust them to find an adequate replacement or replacements. I just think the shape of the team or profile of player we look at may also change.

I think it will change or be subtly altered if we buy someone like Haaland.  But my guess is we'll go like for like, continue to play a high line and utilise the unique talent of Trent at full back.  I don't think we'll change to 4-2-3-1, there's no need to with the quality we have in the back four + Alisson.

I don’t think an adequate replacement exists. He’s the best player in the league. Any replacement wouldn’t be near as good. The closest to his profile is Bowen, a very good footballer but not world class.
