New club statement, if you're interested:

PUBLISHED

11:30 24th June 2013

In relation to comments made by Gus Poyet on BBC Match of the Day last night, the club would like to point out that its disciplinary panel considered the matter on the afternoon of Friday 21st June and for most of Saturday 22nd June.

The club spent much of Sunday 23rd June in discussion with Gus and his representatives. For legal reasons we cannot say anything about the content of those discussions but Gus was well aware, before he appeared on the BBC last evening, that his dismissal was pending.

Let's face it, that makes a little more sense. They probably couldn't give a shit he was a pundit at the time.

Does it?

In the 'sacking' statement, the club said it wouldnt be making any further public statement. And yet here we are, some hours later and they have issued another public statement.

seems to me they're back stroking a fair bit on this.

I know it's still a complete mess, but if you've been in contact with them for 5 weeks and all day that day being told you're sacked, just going to cross the t's, you shouldn't be that surprised.

As for what he actually did? Maybe it'll be released. It's not poogate.

Well everyone knew his dismissal was "pending". That's not the same as being told you've actually been dismissed.

Exactly.

It makes me want to sign up to the uruguay defence league, only it would mean leaving the house... so i'm sticking to disfiguring internet warriors with swiftly applied hashtags.

Yeah it was talking to Reading being in breach of his contract. He also didn't do himself many favours by seemingly blaming the chairman for the play-off defeat saying that he didn't have enough backing. While in the brand new stadium that just had it's capacity increased after 1 season.

Some rumour I heard down here says it wasnt just Reading: Leeds mentioned as well. Forget Oscar, Code needs to let them know hes available
