Black Armbands

With all the money awash in the game at the moment, why cant Premier League clubs invest in Black Armbands.

 

Nothing annoys me more than seeing premier league clubs stating that the club will be wearing black armbands and holding a minutes applause/silence and then coming out with black tape wrapped around their arm, that is NOT a Black Armband and is not a proper or fitting tribute.

 

Yesterdays was the final straw... you are acknowledging a woman who for 24 years has fought not only for justice for her son but also for the good name of the city and the football club and the club cant even invest in 18 black armbands.

 

There must be a reason for this and I am sure someone will put me straight.

Armbands are of no concern to me - hairbands (especially Alice bands) are a scourge of the game. Very worrying. Very.

Tape has the advantage that you can strap choclate bars and things like that to your arm in case Luis gets hungry.

Things like "Are you a quacking spastic?" or "Is your thread a pointless whine about fuck all?". It would depend on peoples honesty, sure, but me being a good natured trusting soul I believe it would work.

It's not a massively interesting point and it doesn't particularly upset me, but still - why do they allow captains to wear armbands when everybody else wears tape?

 

(One thing that does annoy me about the tape is that it's presumably faffy to put on, so anyone not starting the game doesn't bother. As a result, substitutes tend to look like disrespectful pricks.)
