OK he is training now, so let's have the debate we have had the last 10 years with him - where do we play him?

I think with Adam doing so well in centre midfield, we don't need him in that position - as we have a play maker.

With the team struggling to finish chances, I'd play him in a supporting striker role behind Suarez. Let him have freedom to roam and win us games.

Where would you play him and why?

Like you say, considering how bad we're struggling for goals its hard to see past sticking him further up the pitch in any role at all. He'll score goals if we let him loose.

Right midfield where he gets the freedom to roam as well. He can drift in and out and provide better crosses than Downing or Kuyt or anyone else.

I've said this before, Gerrard on the right mid can beat players, and Suarez, Maxi and Kuyt can have more chance up front of scoring goals.

He doesn't have the tactical discipline to play up front.

Maybe, but he'd still wreck havoc linking with Suarez. The season we finished 2nd is one of my favorite Stevie seasons just because he would score out of sheer momentum, of course he is older now so we'll have to wait and see.

I was joking mate. He could play anywhere and would probably be our best player.

Kenny should ask him where he wants to play, play him there and build the team around him as he's our best player.

The days of building team around Gerrard has long gone. Gerrard is injury prone now and we better move forward and build a team around Suarez whom clearly our best player this season.
