Pepe Reina claims he 'couldn't imagine' playing for another club after four years at Anfield.

Reina: Why I couldn't leave - Liverpool FC

The goalkeeper is playing some of the best football of his career this season and is set to be rewarded with a new long-term deal.

He told LFC Weekly Magazine: "I can see in the city - just walking in the streets and talking to people - that there is a passion which cannot be matched in other cities in this country and around the world.

"I realise just how lucky I am to represent this club. I couldn't be happier here. My family is well settled down and my children especially feel like Liverpool is home.

"On the football side, I am 27-years-old and have many games behind me. Mentally, I feel ready to take on anything because my experiences - especially at Liverpool - have made me a lot stronger person and professional. Right now, I am at one of the best moments of my career.

"I would like to stay here a long, long time - I am certain about that. I couldn't imagine playing for another club and pulling on another shirt. The club knows how I feel about this, so hopefully there will be some developments soon. I am ready to talk."

I've never read any comments by Pepe where he says he's unhappy being Spain's number 2 goalkeeper. I wouldn't want him to be first team gk for Spain yet. Let Iker take the responsibility now, then Pepe will be first choice by the time of the next world cup.

I think he's just about surpassed Clem as my favourite goalie, and that's going some.

Deserves a proper song.

To the tune of an old John Barnes song!

Oh His Father Was A Goalie (Repeat)

He Also Played The Football (Repeat)

He Used To Play For Barca (Repeat)

But Now He Plays For Liverpool (Repeat)

His Name Is Pepe Reina (Repeat)

He Comes From Espana (Repeat)

And If You Read The Papers (Repeat)

He'll be going back to Barca (Repeat)

No No No, No No No No, No No No No No No No No

Pepe Reina You're Our Hero

And That Is Why We Love You

Pepe Reina You're Our Hero

You're The Man, You're The Man, You're Our Big Mad Baldy Man!!

I'm not sure what the tune is that they were sung to but here are a few jolly Scousers belting them out with Bobby Wilcox somewhere nice and sunny, the first 50 seconds or so -
