Messi's goal last night was out of this world and got me thinking; would I swap him for our talismanic Captain? I think I probably would, sorry Stevie.

Wouldn't swap Gerrard for anyone. Ever.

I find it baffling that after all he has done for us on the pitch over the past 10 seasons, people still appear to not appreciate him enough. I dread to think what it will be like when he retires.

I love him too mate, this isn't a dig at him. Messi is the only player I'd consider a swap for.

Fair enough TK, not for me though. In the circumstances Gerrard has been in throughout his career, and some of the dross he has played alongside, and the amount of games where he has single-handedly won it for us. I don't think Messi would have done anywhere near aswell as Stevie.

I think Gerrard is the best all round footballer in the world today. The key part of that being "all round". Sure, Messi can dribble better and Ronaldo can shoot better, but pound for pound Stevie is better than anyone for me.
I'd have to question that bit. Stevie is one of the best strikers of a ball you're ever likely to see and has the composure required when through on goal.
