I'd love to go to Glastonbury. My brother goes every year and he has a great time.

What's not to like about sitting around a fire with a group of people getting pissed, playing guitars and having a laugh?

Everyone who i've spoken to said it's a great laugh with loads of stuff to do even without the music.

Sounds great to me.

Then again i'm at the stage of my life where I have a hyper 4 year old so getting away for any period of time is a luxury. I'd have a scream at Auschwitz.

at least we know know what the T stands for. On a less savoury note, I did once witness (at Glastonbury) a guy who was so stoned he had so exhausted himself having a shit in the field, he fell backwards onto it then curled up to sleep like a baby.

Haha "a guy"...

It is my 20th wedding anniversary today, I'm feeling old. Although after a slap up meal in a restaurant, shit loads to drink followed by sex (not having the sex in the restaurant btw) I'll be feeling younger.

Pah! You're still just kids. It was my 30th on Sunday. I thought they were for my parents, not me.

Have a great day both of you x

Congrats Stringy and Champ. My 30th wedding anniversary is next April. Next year is also my folks 50th(Golden) Anniversary, my Dad is 80 and I am 50 towards the end of the year. That reminder to myself has cheered me up no end!

What's Stringy done?

Bloody hell, you must have been married younger than me! Frightening, isnt it?

A lot of people not getting the point of Glastonbury and festivals. It's totally about the experience and the bands are just a bonus.

Have to disagree there, mate. It should be about the music first, and the "experience" second. If i wanted to pay £230 for an experience i'd just get a flight to Amsterdam, neck a ton of class A's and go mad in the red light district.

Glastonbury looks and sounds absolutely horrific. Mud, sunburn, plastic cups of Carling, and 18-year-olds smoking rolies and trying to talk to you about politics. I'd only go to Glastonbury at the head of a Roman reenactment legion so I could form Testudo and throw balls of shit at kanye west or Spandau ballet or whatever ironic shite farmer Giles is peddling for his kids' inheritance this year.

To be honest Secsh mate it can be whatever you want it to be. If you want it to be a messed up drug haze, it can be. Similarly, if you just want to sit in the sun having a beer and listening to some bands, it can be that too. You can go full hippy and get all politically aware and stuff, or you can say bugger that and just get hammered in the comedy tent where theres usually some pretty good acts on.

Its gone from nobody really being bothered about it, to it being the most fashionable thing you could possibly do, to hating it being the most fashionable thing you can possibly do.

Personally I had some great times there and I'll be doing it again before I'm in my box.

Another observation on a subject you have never experienced but in your wisdom you think you know the full extent of this festival from the comfort of your easy chair, try and live a bit there's a big and enjoyable world out there give it a try.

Patronising twat.

Like the way you talk about me making a generalisation while making a generalisation about someone on the internet you've never met.

I'm sure all the millions of people who've never been to a classical music concert or to see a Barry manilow concert because they know it's not their cup of tea shoild accept your wisdom too.
