I think it was Cath that mentioned on the 'Forum Behaviour' thread that "People who think how you behave on a forum matters" annoys her. Got me thinking, does it matter how you behave on an internet forum? I'm not talking about mentalists like Raddy/Momo who are just annoying, but generally. Can you tell what a person is like? I can see both sides of this.

Yes it does matter. The internet is one of the major forms of information in the modern world and as a result it should be taken seriously as a means of communications.

No it doesn't. Anybody can hide behind a forum persona, there is no way of actually knowing what the person behind the nickname is really like.

100% yes,…I feel that every person should behave with respect and behave accordingly to how they would want to be treated, however I hold my hands up and say that in some of my posts my language does not take into account anyone that is reading the forum who may not like the use of certain profanities. So I should in all honesty watch my P’s & Q’s but it's difficult when you have a word like cunt in your word armoury and on occasion not use it.

Its weird, if in the boozer with a load of mates and for example someone says so and so was shit and I disagree i'll often say "Fuck off was he", you say that on here and it looks like i'm being abusive so in that sense im being fake because on here you have to write "Sorry I disagree" and thats not really me, i'll leave that for Tarquin and Roland in an internet cafe down south or something. So do you act like you normally would in the pub or something when chatting footy or do you have to act differently as its the internet and people arent really my mates on here as ive never met anyone off here?
